Mick Schumacher wants to take advantage of the position he has been given at Mercedes next season. Although he will not be prominent as a reserve driver, he expects to learn a lot from the decisions of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
Whereas Hamilton, as a seven-time World Champion, showed amply in the past what he can do, Russell showed in 2022 that he too can tap a high level. For Schumacher, therefore, Mercedes is a fine place to run around.
"It's a chance for me to not have one teammate, but two teammates," he told GPblog and others at the press conference. "Maybe I don't have a direct comparison because I'm not driving but I know how I will approach it."
"Say if they have an oversteer car, what do they do to improve that in terms of driving style. I hope to learn from that and hopefully add to my toolbox to be ready when I hopefully come back," said Schumacher, who is already feeling at home with his new team.

Russell stated last week that Mercedes can also learn a lot from Schumacher's experience. The Brit hopes the talent will work hard in the simulator this season, helping the German formation further in the development of the car.
