Max Verstappen has received the most points among
Formula 1 drivers for his performance in the 2022 season, reports
Formula1.com. In doing so, the Dutchman keeps behind
Ferrari driver
Charles Leclerc, who finishes in second place as in the world championship.
F1 holds an annual vote among all
Formula 1 drivers, allowing them to compile their personal top ten. In doing so, they have the option to put themselves in their own list, although not all drivers chose this option. The scoring works the same as in a race weekend.
 Verstappen gets most points
Verstappen ended up getting the most points for his race year and therefore tops the rankings, followed by Leclerc and
Lewis Hamilton. The Briton thus ends on an equal number of points with his teammate
George Russell, who managed to outperform the seven-time world champion over the whole year.
The other drivers are successively
Lando Norris, Fernando Alonso,
Carlos Sainz,
Alexander Albon,
Sebastian Vettel and
Sergio Perez. The latter three drivers also scored the same number of points, putting them all on P8. It is not known which top 10 each driver compiled, as anonymity was one of their conditions of entry.
