Aston Martin starts the race weekend in Brazil with high hopes. Looking ahead to the race and the preceding sprint race, Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel believe the team can grab crucial points in the battle for sixth place.

Aston Martin started the season very ailing but has now firmly established itself in the midfield. With two races and a sprint race to go, sixth place among constructors beckons and with it an 84 million prize pool. Alfa Romeo currently still holds that spot but Aston Martin is just four points behind it.

At the previous sprint races, Aston Martin still failed to score points but Stroll sees chances to change that this weekend. "It is definitely possible to perform overtakes here," Stroll said in the preview. "That puts us in a stronger position. If we can get the best out of our car this weekend – particularly because the Sprint gives us two opportunities to perform – then we should be able to pick up some crucial points."

Vettel will get the most out of the car

For Sebastian Vettel, it will most likely be the last time he races at the Interlagos circuit. The four-time world champion has been on the track in Brazil often enough, topping the chaotic race in 2012 that saw Vettel win his third world title. "I have some incredible memories here," Vettel reflected. "It will be amazing to race around this iconic venue for one last time. While we did not perform in Mexico, our form in general has been strong recently. We will do everything to maximise the car's potential in these last two races. It is a tough mission, but we are up for it."
