Alonso makes debut in Aston Martin car as early as three weeks from now

Fernando Alonso played a big part in the silly season for 2023 with the contract he signed with Aston Martin for next year. Not just in 2023, but as early as three weeks from now, the Spaniard will make his debut with the team; Alonso will test in Abu Dhabi.

After the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi, 'post-season tests' will be held. Spain's Marca reveals that Alonso will start driving these tests for Aston Martin after the Abu Dhabi GP race. That means Alonso will be seen in the green colours of Lawrence Stroll's team within a month.

After another failure in his Alpine, in the Spaniard's misfortune-plagued season, Alonso said almost with relief, "Only two more races to go." The Alpine driver cannot wait to make his switch. On Tuesday 22 November, the Spaniard will climb into the AMR22 for the first time. These tests will test the Pirelli tyres for next year. It is an immediate opportunity for Alonso to get acquainted with his new team and this year's car. Each team will drive the tests with a driver who will be part of the team for 2023 and a rookie.
