Red Bull Racing managed to win the constructors' championship at the United States Grand Prix. It is the first time since 2013 that the Austrian formation has succeeded in this, marking a milestone. Besides this year's successes, Red Bull's history has many other clever achievements. We list the history.

Red Bull's beginnings were in 2005 when the brand took over Jaguar Racing. With David Coulthard and Christian Klien, the Austrian formation worked hard to make quick strides, which included a Dutch touch. Indeed, Robert Doornbos was allowed a behind-the-scenes role as a test driver in 2006 and 2007 and even got the opportunity to finish three races at the end of the first year.

Meanwhile, developments at Red Bull continued steadily. It brought in Adrian Newey in 2007 to further improve the car's qualities, while with Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel it brought in drivers with the potential to compete for the world title. In 2009, Red Bull came close to a title for the first time. Vettel fell 11 points short of Jenson Button. Red Bull also finished second in the constructors' championship.

Vettel's years of success

The 2009 season gave Red Bull confidence for the following year. The team got off to a strong start and eventually managed to compete for the world title throughout the season. With Webber and Vettel, Red Bull even had two trump cards in its hands, while Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton were also hoping to take the top prize. However, it was Vettel who came out on top.

The German managed to hold the line in the three years that followed, keeping the competition far behind. Whereas in 2011 he had a 122-point lead over Webber, during his third world title it was 103 points over Fernando Alonso. He won the last championship in 2013 when he had 155 points more than the Spaniard. Red Bull also won the constructors' championship four times partly due to Vettel's performance.

Successes in own youth training

Because of the hybrid era, Red Bull lost their grip on the championship in the years that followed, but confidence among the Austrians remained high internally. This is partly due to the great talents the formation has running around. The Red Bull Junior Team, in existence since 2001, has delivered several talents in Formula 1 over the years, in which multiples can still be found.

Christian Klien, Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Alexander Albon, Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly are some of the drivers who have gone through the junior team. After Vettel's successes, Verstappen made history for the team during this period, making all six of Red Bull's world titles come from drivers who went through its own junior team.

Verstappen's world titles appear to be first step

Red Bull is now in its second period of success, which started with the departure of Renault. Honda came in as the new engine supplier and that partnership proved to be a great success. Last season, it still had to fight hard with Mercedes to win the world championship, but this calendar year is different.

Despite Charles Leclerc still trying to compete in the early stages of the season, Verstappen proved too strong with Red Bull to miss out on a world title. Sergio Perez played an important role in the background. The Mexican was already important in Verstappen's first world title and also proved his added value for the team in 2022.

Not only is the dominance increasingly visible, but the team also has a lot of knowledge. This is proven by winning the constructors' championship, which proves the entire team is rock solid. For next season, for now, nothing stands in the way of making it another successful year, although history shows that nothing can be as treacherous as Formula 1.
