Sebastian Vettel is preparing for the last six Grands Prix of his Formula 1 career. The four-time world champion is calling it quits after this season and therefore hopes to finish nicely. Last race weekend, however, things went badly wrong for the German, as he did not make it to the end of the race in Italy.

During qualifying in Monza, the driver had to settle for seventeenth place. Due to some grid penalties, Vettel was allowed to start the race from P11, but Vettel had to drop out after only ten laps due to engine problems.

"Overall, this was just a tough weekend for us. I was hopeful for a decent race, but we struggled for pace and then had the problem that forced our retirement," Vettel told reporters in conversation with Formula1.com. "It’s definitely one that I will not remember but still it was a nice weekend."

Aston Martin has painful weekend in Italy

His teammate Lance Stroll was then allowed to continue for an additional 29 laps, before also having to pull his car over. It ensured that Aston Martin went home scoreless and therefore remains in ninth place in the constructors' championship.
