Red Bull can pop the champagne: 'Nobody's going to catch Verstappen'

Former F1 driver Christian Danner believes Red Bull Racing can chill the champagne. No one will be able to overtake Max Verstappen in 2022.

After his hard-fought first world title in 2021, Verstappen looks set for his second in 2022. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari seemed to be his biggest rival before the season, but throughout the season he has not been able to keep up with the Dutchman. The difference in the championship is therefore already 109 points.

''The preliminary decision has long since passed. Verstappen is the facto world champion. It will take a little while before it is mathematically correct. Who is supposed to catch up with the Dutchman? No one'', says the German at Sport1. ''Red Bull can soon chill the champagne.''
