Nico Rosberg thinks that Daniel Ricciardo should leave Red Bull after this year and team up with his old teammate Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari, as he thinks it's time for a new chapter for the Aussie

The 2016 world champion argues that the chemistry issues won't be there anymore, should they team up again.

"Ricciardo should go to Ferrari," he explained to Motorsport-total.com.

"It worked at Red Bull too [with Ricciardo and Vettel], or at least for a year."

That year was 2014, Ricciardo's first year at Red Bull. The Aussie outperformed Vettel as he won three races compared to Vettel who didn't win a single Grand Prix that year. Ricciardo finished the year with 71 points more than his teammate (238 to 167), prompting Vettel to make the switch to Ferrari.

"I'm not sure Vettel would be overly happy [with Ricciardo coming]," Rosberg continued.

"He should come, he was faster than him at Red Bull.

"It would be a good choice, a good change of scenery."

There were reports not too long ago that Ricciardo had agreed on a preliminary contract with Ferrari already for next year, but the Aussie denied these claims, saying that he hasn't spoken to any other team but Red Bull yet. Ferrari insiders believe that Vettel will defend the coming of Ricciardo as much as he can.
