Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner has warned the F1 and Liberty Media about making the calendar of a season too busy, as this season equals the record for most races in a season with 21 and there are already talks of expanding to multiple other destinations like Miami.

There will be a tripleheader for the first time ever, as the Grands Prix in France, Austria and Great Britain will all be held in successive weeks. A Grand Prix in Miami will most likely be added to the calendar next season, and there are talks about races in Denmark and Vietnam being added to the calendar as well, meaning that the calendar will be busier in the coming years. This isn't a good thing, Steiner warns.

“There’s always coming and going, I think 22 would still be possible but it’s getting difficult," Steiner said.

"We will find out this year when we have the tripleheader, how difficult this is.

"We will struggle and maybe find out that there is a separation point for the public - we need to be careful."

However, Steiner also acknowledged that Liberty Media do a good job taking care of the F1-brand and making sure that the public enjoys all the racing as much as possible.

“I think Liberty is very good, they monitor it very well and at the moment, what Liberty is trying to do is get not the quantity of the races up but get the quality up.

"If we get Miami, if we get Copenhagen, I think as a global sport, these are good places to go to."
