Max Verstappen has scored a huge victory in the World Championship. The Dutchman can add 25 points to his tally thanks to his victory in the Grand Prix, while Charles Leclerc did not manage to finish and therefore did not score any points. The reigning world champion now has a lead of no less than 63 points.
Not much else changes in the World Championship standings. Lance Stroll moved up one place to 18th at the expense of Alexander Albon thanks to his tenth place at Paul Ricard. There are no further changes after what was the twelfth Grand Prix of the season.
Sergio Perez has lost 12 points to Leclerc and has the Ferrari driver in sight again. In addition, Max Verstappen's teammate ran up a few points on Carlos Sainz. Thanks to his third place in France, George Russell is only one point behind him in the World Championship.
