Leclerc: 'It feels like Red Bull is doing something different to us'

A first place in the first free practice and a second place in the second free practice. A good result for Charles Leclerc during the Friday of the French Grand Prix weekend, as Leclerc himself agrees. The Monegasque is satisfied with what Ferrari showed at the Paul Ricard circuit.

“Yeah it was a good Friday. I mean we still have to work on the car a little bit for tomorrow," said Leclerc, who saw Red Bull doing something different to what he is used to from the Austrian racing team. "It’s very difficult to understand because it feels like Red Bull is doing something different to us on Friday, but focusing on ourselves the feeling is good. so we just need to put everything together and the pace is in the car."

Hot conditions in France

At Sky Sports the 24-year-old driver also discussed the warm temperatures in Le Castellet. “We need to be on top of this weekend it’s going to be a difficult race for us drivers but also for the car but I’m confident it’s going to be okay."

Cooling the engine is always an important thing in Formula One and, especially given the problems Ferrari has had with its power unit in 2022, there will be a lot of focus on it. Ferrari cannot afford to fail again with reliability issues.

Verstappen fast in long runs
