The Spanish Grand Prix is usually the place for Formula One teams to make updates to their cars. While Red Bull Racing, Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari, among others, already announced that they will be doing so, Haas is not following suit.

The American formation started the season with mixed feelings. With the sudden departure of Nikita Mazepin and the arrival of Kevin Magnussen, it experienced anything but a peaceful preparation for the season. Although the Dane started the racing year excellently, Mick Schumacher is still without points.

Steiner wants to get more out of current car

In Miami, Haas was empty-handed for the second time this season. The stable hopes to shake off that feeling in Spain, not feeling that updates would make big differences right away. Instead, team boss Guenther Steiner thinks there is more to be gotten out of the current car.

"We have decided to wait a little bit longer with upgrades," Steiner let us know in conversation with Motorsportweek.com. "I still think we have performance in the car without them which we have to get on the track, so sometimes we achieve it, sometimes we don’t."
