Jenson Button would like to take his chances in the 24 Hours of Le Mans again in the future. The former Formula 1 driver competed in the iconic long-distance race in 2018 and is keen to do it again.

The 2009 F1 World Champion, who this year competes in the all-electric Group E category of Nitro Rallycross, says he "missed out a bit" on racing at Le Mans. He describes his 2018 participation as a great experience, despite the fact that manufacturers like Toyota remained out of reach.

Button aims for rematch at Le Mans

The goal was therefore mainly to gain experience for when he would participate again with a factory team in the future. That hasn't happened so far, but Button hopes to get the chance again.

"I would love to do Le Mans again," he says in conversation with Racer.com. He may even venture there in the future with his own team, Jenson Team Rocket RJN, with which he competes in the British GT Championship. From 2024, GT3 cars will take over from the GTE class, which would make participation with Button's McLaren 720S GT3 possible.
