McLaren hoped prior to the season that it could compete for the world title in 2022, but nothing turned out to be further from the truth for the time being. Partly due to brake problems, the team was unable to compete with Ferrari and Red Bull Racing. Andreas Seidl therefore asks for some more patience, he tells F1insider.com.
During the first two Grands Prix, McLaren could hardly be satisfied with the team's performance. During the GP of Australia, however, the formation showed that it has made some great strides, suddenly finding itself in fifth and sixth final positions.
It is therefore hoped that the last GP will be the start of twenty more strong races from McLaren, but for now the racing stable does not want to blow its top too high. Lando Norris already stated after the race in Australia that he doubted what the good performance of McLaren was about.

Seidl also finds the coming period difficult to predict. "Despite all our ambitions, we have to remain patient," the team boss stressed. "Our package is currently good enough to fight for places in the top ten. That is better than at the beginning of the season, but of course not where we actually want to be."
