Charles Leclerc has started the new season strongly. The Monegasque won the first race in Bahrain and crossed the finish line in second place in Jeddah, which means he is currently fully engaged in the battle for the championship. Leclerc stresses that he wants to keep improving to stay in that battle.

For now Leclerc takes the lead in the championship, but the Ferrari driver must take Max Verstappen into account. If the Dutchman had not crashed out in Bahrain, the two rivals would be a lot closer together in terms of points.

Team boss Mattia Binotto has no doubt that Leclerc is ready for the title fight in 2022. The Monegasque is positive about the start of the season, but stresses that he wants to make even more progress.

'It's our duty'

"I want to know what I need to work on to become even better. Whether it will be enough to win the world championship, I have no idea. We're still early in the season, but let's say it's a good start", Leclerc says according to Nextgen-Auto.com.

The development of the new cars is expected to play a big role in the new season, so Leclerc wants to continue working well with his team to get the most out of them. "It's our duty to help the team as best we can to maintain the lead over the competition", he ends.
