Since Liberty Media took control of Formula 1, there has been a lot of talk about the development of the sport. Chase Carey has stated that he would rather the grid be more competitive than introduce any new teams.
The Formula 1 boss wants more excitement and competition throughout the season and adding teams to the grid isn't a way off doing this Carey believes.
“I prefer ten teams that are competitive than twelve in the field. We have to close the gap between the three top teams and the seven other teams. If you add two teams, they will match the other seven."
The Formula 1 boss really wants more competition at the top of the grid, so that more teams can participate for race wins. Tomorrow is an important day for the sport as the plans for 2021 will be announced.
