What the 2027 MotoGP calendar looks like
The 2027 MotoGP season will feature 22 Grands Prix weekends across five continents. As has been the case over the previous two seasons, the season will begin in Thailand and conclude in Valencia. Key changes include:
- The Argentinian Grand Prix returns to the calendar after a one-year absence. However, instead of the Termas de Río Hondo circuit, the series will travel to Buenos Aires for the first time since 1999.
- The fan-favorite Phillip Island track will be replaced by a street-circuit race in Adelaide, which will host the Australian Grand Prix.
- Th Hungarian Grand Prix will disappear from the calendar. Aragon will host its final Grand Prix as a permanent calendar barrow becoming a backup option through the 2031 campaign.
Why the 2027 calendar is important
2027 will mark the first year of MotoGP's new regulations. The bikes will be reduced from 1000cc to 850cc, aerodynamic parts will be reduced and more tightly controlled, and Michelin will be replaced by Pirelli as the competition's tyre supplier.

Moreover, MotoGP continues to explore new paths beyond changes to the bikes. For example, the Adelaide street circuit will make its debut in 2027.

Entering the next chapter of MotoGP, many riders will begin the new season with new teams, while several rookies will also make the step up from Moto2.
Marc Marquez will have a new teammate in Pedro Acosta, who is tipped to become the next dominant rider in the series. Francesco Bagnaia joins Aprilia, forming an all-Italian line-up with Marco Bezzecchi. Fabio Quartararo joins Honda from Yamaha, while Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura will ride for the latter factory team next year.
A total of five rookies will feature this year. David Alonso, Izan Guevara, Daniel Holgado, and Senna Agius are all being promoted from Moto2. World Superbike champion Nicolo Bulega will follow in Toprak Razgatlioglu's footsteps by joining MotoGP after winning that title.

What’s new in the 2027 MotoGP calendar?

There are two changes to the 2027 MotoGP calendar, which will feature 22 race weekends. The Argentinian Grand Prix returns this year, with the competition heading back to Buenos Aires for the first time since the 1999 campaign. It will replace the Balaton Park Circuit and the Hungarian Grand Prix, which has been removed from the calendar. Alongside that, the Adelaide Street Circuit will host the Australian Grand Prix instead of Phillip Island.
How many MotoGP races are there in 2027?
Similarly to the 2026 campaign, there will be a total of 22 race weekends on the MotoGP calendar. The season will begin in Thailand in March and conclude in Valencia in November.
Are all races on the 2027 MotoGP calendar final?
Yes, however, the 2027 MotoGP calendar may still change during the season, as has been the case in various previous seasons. Races can be rescheduled, removed, or added to the calendar at a later stage.

Which Grands Prix will have a sprint weekend in 2027?
Unlike in Formula 1, every MotoGP race features a Sprint as well on Saturdays.
