David Almansa took pole position in Moto3 qualifying at Aragon despite a near miss with Brian Uriarte.
The pair were battling for track position during flying laps and Uriarte snuck down the inside of Almansa who dramatically threw a leg in the air to avoid a nasty crash.
Yet despite having to back out, he went on to record the fastest time with a 1'56.347.
Argentine Marco Morelli followed him in second while championship leader Maximo Quiles was in third.

18-year-old Spaniard Quiles didn’t start the British Grand Prix last time out after a heavy qualifying crash, but he still possesses a substantial 85-point championship lead.
However, compatriot Almansa, who 97 points behind in third, also dominated on Friday and looks ready to further close the gap at the top in Aragon.
