Moto2 results: Ivan Ortola wins in Brno with sensational last-corner pass

The Moto2 race in Brno was a tense affair, with the result only being decided on the very last corner of the final lap.
Hotly-tipped MotoGP prospect David Alonso took the lead early on and looked comfortable out in front in the opening laps abead of Ivan Ortola. A chase group made up for Izan Guevara, Senna Agius and home rider Filip Salac formed behind, and over the course of the race began to chip away at Alonso's lead.
The race was tense but still full of drama, particularly as Agius' knee slider came off and flew back to hit his own teammate and championship leader, Manuel Gonzalez.
Salac then pulled off an incredible double overtake through the stadium section, passing Agius and Guevarra in front of the Czech fans. After that, the 24-year-old hunted down Ortola and Alonso at the front, but was unable to catch the pair.
Ortola waited until the very last corner of the last lap to make his move and judged it to perfection, passing the Colombian to claim an epic first win in Moto2, while Salac rounded out the podium.
