The second free practice session of the weekend brings the curtain down on Friday's action at the Austrian Grand Prix. But who will take the momentum into the weekend? Find out with GPblog's liveblog down below!

Verstappen looking for win number six in Austria

Max Verstappen has had plenty of success around the Red Bull Ring, having to correct a British journalist on the number of times he has won in Austria, taking four Austrian Grand Prix wins, along with a Styrian Grand Prix victory too.
With upgrades brought by Red Bull Racing at their home Grand Prix, there is some hope that the driver will be able to claw back the deficit between himself and the two McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris at the front of the championship battle.
The four-time champion was able to do so last time out at the Canadian Grand Prix after the two McLaren teammates came together in the closing stages of the race, derailing their dominant season so far.

Will another collision occur in Spielberg?

Last year, the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix brought huge amounts of drama, becoming the catalyst for the intriguing title battle between Verstappen and Norris that took place.
After the second round of pit stops, the two championship leaders were doing battle on track, with Norris searching for a move, unable to break through the stout defence of Verstappen.
However, with eight laps remaining, the two made contact, resulting in them both receiving punctures and ruining their races. Norris was forced to retire due to damage, while Verstappen recovered to take P5, allowing George Russell to pick up the pieces to take the win.
After a hectic race last year, along with the collision between the two McLaren teammates in Montreal, who knows what could happen on Sunday around the Red Bull Ring?
