F1 LIVE | FP2 for the 2025 Mexican Grand Prix
Free Practice 2 will begin at 16:00 local time at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez Circuit, which correlates to 23:00 BST / 00:00 CET for European fans.
FP1 saw a number of drivers sit out of the session in favour of rookie's being given the opportunity to test an
F1 car.
Max Verstappen,
Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton notably sat out of FP1, with the Dutchman replaced by Arvid Lindblad and the two British drivers replaced by Pato O'Ward and Antonio Fuoco.
This means that FP2 will see two out of our three championship leaders, have their first laps on track this weekend.
The last race weekend out in Austin, Texas, saw Verstappen close the gap to both of the
McLaren drivers in the world championship, with
Oscar Piastri, Norris and Verstappen now separated by just 40 points, with five Grands Prix and two sprint races remaining.
FP2 is largely considered the most representable session of the weekend before qualifying and the Grand Prix itself. However, there is a 30% chance of rain coming into this session, so should the circuit see wet weather conditions, then this session likely will not be a representable session due to the weather forecast looking dry for Sunday.
