The weekend began with the Sprint in the state of Florida.
Lando Norris stormed to pole position on Friday afternoon, finishing ahead of
Kimi Antonelli and Oscar Piastri. During the Sprint, the British driver led from start to finish to take all eight points. Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc completed the podium. George Russell finished fourth, ahead of
Max Verstappen, Antonelli and
Lewis Hamilton, while the final point went to Alpine's Pierre Gasly.
On Saturday, Antonelli claimed pole position in qualifying, finishing ahead of Verstappen and Leclerc. His teammate, Russell, once again struggled, while Norris set the fourth quickest time. Piastri only finished in seventh place, one position behind Hamilton. The weekend now continues with the Miami Grand Prix, which has been brought forward by three hours due to expected weather conditions. Verstappen’s teammate, Isack Hadjar, will start
from the pit lane after being disqualified from qualifying, with the team changing multiple power unit components on his RB22.
Looking at the drivers’ standings, Antonelli remains in the lead after the Sprint. The young Italian is currently seven points ahead of Russell and 20 points clear of Leclerc. Follow the 2026 Miami Grand Prix below!
