LIVE | FP3: Belgian Grand Prix

On Friday we already saw a lot of upgrades from the teams and there was also a lot of testing to see what works and what doesn't. The free practice on Saturday will be mainly about fine-tuning the cars. After the changes made on Friday, this is the last chance for the drivers and teams to make changes, before the cars fall under the Parc Fermé regulations in qualifying.

Changeable conditions a key factor?

It will be interesting to see which of the top teams will be quickest over the seven-kilometre circuit. The differences seem very small again after Friday, but with limited grip and upcoming rain surprises seem likely. Between FP3 and qualifying there is very little time, so crashes can be very expensive for drivers and teams, so they will want to avoid that.
On Friday this happened to Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen. The former even had to replace his entire chassis because there was a crack in it and the team couldn't repair it in time. Verstappen got away without a scratch and will therefore be fresh on the grid for the third free practice session at Spa-Francorchamps.
