Villeneuve slams 'weak' McLaren after defeat to Verstappen in Imola: 'They're afraid'
Jaques Villeneuve had a scathing comment about McLaren's strategy after the Imola Grand Prix. The Canadian could not understand why McLaren would have Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri batttle when Piastri was on older tyres.
Villeneuve said, "They show weakness, basically. They don't show the strength that Red Bull is always showing year after year. It's as if they're afraid to be aggressive in trying to win the drivers championship and they're afraid to go against Piastri. It's really, really odd."
Alpine encourages an end to online abuse
Alpine has recently issued a statement regarding the intense negativity and cyberbullying that Formula 1 drivers are currently experiencing.
Jack Doohan and Franco Colapinto both work for Alpine and have been at the centre of the hate for a while now. However, it is not only Alpine that has recently spoken up.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem also posted a statement regarding the situation.
