Vettel foresees problems: "Unfortunately overtaking is not easy here"

Sebastian Vettel says there was much more potential in his Aston Martin than what he was able to show during qualifying in Russia. The German will start in eleventh place with a view to points but says overtaking will not be easy.

"We definitely had the potential to have a much better result today. I think we had the pace to easily progress to Q3, but I had traffic on my final run and I just missed out," Vettel revealed in a press release from his team. The German was bothered by Yuki Tsunoda during his final run.

"I am annoyed with myself because I should have put in a better time the lap before as well. It means we are starting on the edge of the top 10 and unfortunately overtaking is not so easy here," Vettel concluded.

Teammate Lance Stroll did a little better and made it through the third and final qualifying session. The Canadian will start from eighth place for the Russian Grand Prix.
