Sunday's starting grid is not very different from the results of the sprint race in Brazil. Only Carlos Sainz has received a five-place grid penalty. Lewis Hamilton is one of the drivers who benefits from this and therefore gets to start second at Interlagos. The front row of the grid will be occupied by two Mercedes, behind them it will be two Red Bulls looking to make life difficult for
George Russell and
Lewis Hamilton.
Lando Norris has split the
Ferrari and will try to hold his own in the violence of the top three traditional teams.
Kevin Magnussen must hope to stay in the points from P8. The Dane was allowed to start from pole position in the sprint race, but fell back a lot of places in 24 laps. So it remains to be seen whether the
Haas F1 driver manages to score points again.
Sebastian Vettel (P9) and
Pierre Gasly (P10) showed good pace.
