RB16 from Albon gets new engine part from Honda; no grid penalty

Prior to the third Grand Prix of the year Alexander Albon installed a new part for the Honda engine. The engine component Control Electronics was replaced by the Japanese supplier at the Hungaroring. It does not give the Red Bull Racing rider a grid penalty, as it is only his first change of the season.
The electronics have been replaced in the car of the British Thai. Only two of the Control Electronics (CE) are allowed to be used each season. So the fact that Albon is at its maximum after only two Grands Prix is not ideal. A grid penalty for Max Verstappen's team mate therefore seems unavoidable in the course of the year.

A problem with engine

Why exactly the switch was made by Honda is not known. The engine manufacturer noticed problems with the electronics during the first Grand Prix of the season in Austria, but reported that all problems would be solved afterwards. That seems to be a bit different now.
For Verstappen and the AlphaTauri riders Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly nothing changes. They all still ride with their first parts during the Hungarian Grand Prix.
