Oscar Piastri champion in F3 after exciting season finale at Mugello!

Liam Lawson won the final race of the Formula 3 season, but Oscar Piastri can crown himself the champion after an exciting finale at Mugello.

Prior to the final race of the season, there are still three contenders for the title in the Formula 1 feeder series: Oscar Piastri, Theo Pouchaire and Logan Sargeant.

Sargeant had to get out of his car on first lap of the F3 race. The American is pushed to the outside of turn three who then made contact with Zendeli. Both cars can't make the turn and end up in the gravel trap and have to finish their race. That left Pouchaire and Piastri in the championship battle.

The Frenchman has made quite an advance in the last few races, taking the podium three times in the last three races. At the race in Mugello, he was also on the podium with a strong third place. However, it is just not enough. By finishing in seventh place, Piastri manages to gain valuable points and win the championship with 164 points. Pouchaire follows with 162 points and Sargeant is the big loser of the day, with 160 points in the end.
