Just like Formula 1, the new start of the MotoGP season is also fast approaching. Given the physical effort that these riders will have to put in, it is also vital for them to start the season fit and healthy. For Andrea Dovizioso that's in question at the moment.
The Italian of Ducati has been Marc Marquez's main opponent for the past three seasons and finished second in the championship three times in a row. For the now 34-year-old Dovizioso, time is running out if he wants to become world champion in the highest class, so 2020 would be an important season.
That chance now seems to be in jeopardy. Dovi likes to ride the dirt bike, but that's not without danger. During a race for a regional championship near Faenza, he crashed after a jump. He was able to get up and according to the first reports he walked on his own power to his camper.
He kept his left arm close to his body, which could indicate a collarbone fracture. He was therefore taken to the hospital for examination. Fortunately for Dovi the MotoGP season starts a little later than Formula 1. The first race is in three weeks in Jerez.
