Full results sprint race GP Baku 2023 | Verstappen on podium

Sergio Pérez has won the first sprint race of the season. The Mexican started from second place behind Charles Leclerc, but after a safety car the Red Bull driver managed to pass the Monegasque. Max Verstappen, despite suffering damage to his sidepod, finished third.

Behind Verstappen finished George Russell, who had contact with the Dutchman on the first lap. Behind the Briton, the two Spaniards finished, with Carlos Sainz in fifth place and Fernando Alonso in sixth.

After Alonso, there was a five-second gap with Lewis Hamilton. Lance Stroll grabbed the last point by crossing the finish line in eighth place. Nyck de Vries had a good first sprint race. After a disappointing result in the sprint shootout, the Dutchman managed to gain six places before finishing in fourteenth.
