Welcome to GPblog's round-up of the best Formula 1 stories of today, Tuesday, 5 November, 2025. Reports from Italy suggest
Ferrari is preparing a fundamental shift in design philosophy for its 2026 Formula 1 challenger.
Although the battle for second in the Constructors’ Championship remains ongoing, the Maranello outfit has largely shifted focus to the new technical era.
The current SF-25’s main weakness, a reported problematic rear suspension, has forced compromises in floor height and downforce, limiting overall performance.
Despite several updates throughout the season, Ferrari only recently found consistent podium pace. According to Autoracer, the team plans to abandon its current double pull-rod configuration in favour of a rear push-rod system for 2026, marking the first time Ferrari has used such a setup since the 2010 F10, the car that nearly brought Fernando Alonso his thus far elusive third title.
Former
F1 chief
Bernie Ecclestone has criticised
Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari move, describing it as
“a financial marketing project.” Speaking to Sport.de, the 95-year-old Brit said the seven-time world champion joined Ferrari expecting to win but has instead faced disappointment.
“He wanted to become world champion there and is now surprised that he can’t do it,” Ecclestone added, arguing that Hamilton is “one of the best of the last ten years, but not the best.”
He also questioned Ferrari’s leadership under Frederic Vasseur, saying that the team lacks the authoritarian structure it once thrived on.
“Ferrari needs a dictator at the top to be successful,” Ecclestone said, claiming internal interference continues to undermine the Scuderia’s charge.
