The last free practice session on the E-Prix circuit of Rome has come to an end. After the first E-Prix on Saturday, where Jean-Eric Vergne won, the drivers were back on track for a third free practice today. Today the fourth EPrix of the season is scheduled, again in the Italian city. On a wet track it was Nick Cassidy who set the fastest time.
The driver from New Zealand managed to set a 1:40.107 on the wet track. After setting this time early in the session, the track conditions deteriorated and Cassidy's time was out of reach. Only Maximilian Günther came in within a tenth, followed by Stoffel Vandoorne at more than half a second.

Wet qualifying ahead

Robin Frijns and Nyck de Vries both had no significant third free practice. Frijns, who finished fourth yesterday, can be found in twelfth place. De Vries himself holds the eighteenth spot in the last free practice. After his incident with Vandoorne on Saturday, the Dutchman will be looking to regain his championship chances. He headed to Rome as the championship leader, following his victory in the first EPrix of the season.
The outlook for the day in Rome is not too good for the teams. The rain doesn't seem to be leaving anytime soon, so qualifying is expected to be held on a wet track. So being on track at the right time will be very important and because of the format Formula E is in, we might see some surprises today.
