Although Ferrari was on the podium with Charles Leclerc in Austria, the Italians can wouldn't call mention it as a succesful weekend. The title hopes for this season went down the drain after a dramatic qualifying on Saturday. They Italians have no choice but to do their best now.
"We knew we would have a tough start to the season and it was even more so than we had expected. That’s why we’re working flat out to try and already bringing some updates to the next race which were orignally due for Hungary. It’s a race against the clock, but we’re doing our best", said Mattia Binotto in his preview for the Styrian Grand Prix.

Ferrari puts hope on update

Originally Ferrari had planned a new update for the Hungarian Grand Prix which should improve the aerodynamics in such a way that more downforce is generated without losing too much top speed. This update will be brought forward, which should help the confidence of the team during the coming races.
"The fact we are racing again at the same track is a bigger reason to bring the updates here, so that we can confirm if they work and that our development direction is going in the right direction. Our aim during the Styrian Grand Prix is to get maximum the potential out of our package and make the most of any opportunity to bring home as many points as possible."
