Verstappen immediately outsmarted by Mercedes at the start

The race of the Australian Grand Prix is underway. The video shows the start of the race. Both Mercedes cars shoot past Max Verstappen at the start.

An atypical start for the Dutchman in the Australian Grand Prix. Verstappen seemed to be the strongest on the grid with his RB19 but was quickly passed by George Russell at the start. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton also passed him there after the first sector.

Charles Leclerc is the unlucky one and is already out of the race. The Ferrari driver drove into Lance Stroll and spun. His spin was followed by a yellow flag which was converted to a safety car. For Sergio Perez, that might be a nice scenario. The Mexican Red Bull driver started from the pit lane. The race resumed with Verstappen on P3.
