Marelli Motorsport and OMP Racing recently announced that the developed biometric fireproof shirt had been approved by the FIA. The Italian Corriere della Sera writes on Tuesday that Max Verstappen is the first driver to use the VISM shirt during a race. The Vital Signs Monitor shirt is fire resistant, so it meets the requirements of an ordinary t-shirt. In the case of Verstappen it would be a test, after which the shirt might be used more in the future.

The practical usefulness of the shirt is especially important in case of problems on the track.
