The news had been circulating for quite some time, as GPBlog had already reported a few weeks ago, but now it’s official:
Valtteri Bottas will be a
Cadillac driver starting in 2026.
The Finnish driver will team up with
Sergio Perez, who was also announced today, with both making their return to
Formula 1 after their current year off.
A highly experienced duo chosen by the American giant, which is about to make its historic
Formula 1 debut in an equally challenging season, with major regulation changes and cars that will be radically different from the current ones.
On Tuesday,
Cadillac announced its driver duo for next year:
Valtteri Bottas and
Sergio Perez will return to the
Formula 1 grid. Peter Windsor shared his opinion on this line-up in an exclusive interview with GPblog.
''Really boring choice,'' Peter Windsor began. The former team manager doesn't understand why
Cadillac based their choice on this:
''Unbelievably boring and a bit disappointing really. What are they thinking? Oh, we've got to have two guys that have won Grands Prix in order to have our credibility.''
