Max Verstappen will start the Dutch Grand Prix from P3 on the grid, after he finished behind the McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Jan Lammers is satisfied with the result of the Dutchman, he told GPblog in an exclusive interview.
After finishing third in qualifying, the Red Bull driver explained this was the "best he felt all weekend," but "still not on the level of McLaren."
GPblog asked the former F1 driver whether the four-time world champion finishing third should be celebrated.
"We don't have to celebrate immediately, the race is tomorrow, and he's not my son. Max was amazing, very good. Well done, for him it's basically the maximum he can achieve."

Lammers on ticket sales for the Dutch Grand Prix

Lammers is of course also the sporting director of the Dutch Grand Prix. He was asked about the ticket sales for the race weekend at Zandvoort. The stands were not sold out on Friday.
"Today (Saturday, ed.) and tomorrow (Sunday) it's sold out, so you can't have it any better. Yesterday (Friday) it was also very good. Tomorrow evening we will release the figures, but super happy, everyone is happy."

Does Verstapen have a chance of winning in Zandvoort?

The FIA's weather system suggests there is a 40% chance of rain for the Dutch Grand Prix.
"We don't have any influence on the weather so anything can happen tomorrow. If they (McLaren, ed.) have just made a pit stop and it starts raining, then you're in trouble," Lammers concluded.
