Ted Kravitz is a British Formula 1 journalist and pit reporter, best known for his work with Sky Sports F1. He has been active in Formula 1 coverage since 1997 and presents the popular programme Ted’s Notebook, in which he shares technical insights and paddock rumours.

Career before Formula 1

Kravitz was born on 21 March 1974 in Hammersmith, West London. During his studies, he presented at University Radio Exeter and later completed a journalism course at CBS News in London. He began his career as a news and sports reporter for regional British radio stations such as 95.8 Capital FM, where he worked on the award-winning programme The Way It Is. He also worked for LBC and London News District.

Pit reporter for ITV, BBC and Sky Sports F1

When ITV acquired the Formula 1 broadcasting rights in 1997, Kravitz was appointed as a producer. In 2002, he moved into the role of pit reporter, succeeding James Allen. When the BBC took over the F1 rights in 2009, Kravitz moved with them and worked alongside Lee McKenzie as a pit lane reporter.
Since 2012, Kravitz has been part of the Sky Sports F1 team. He initially presented The F1 Show alongside Georgie Thompson and later Natalie Pinkham. He also received his own format: Ted’s Notebook, a programme in which he reviews race weekends and shares background information on technical updates and paddock rumours.

Controversy and boycott by Verstappen and Red Bull

Kravitz faced controversy after the 2022 Japanese Grand Prix, in which he suggested in Ted’s Notebook that Max Verstappen “never seemed to win a championship in a normal way.” This referred in part to the controversial 2021 title decider in Abu Dhabi. The comment led to a temporary boycott of Sky Sports by Verstappen and Red Bull during the 2022 United States Grand Prix. The boycott was lifted one race later.
