Sebastian Vettel has been summoned to the stewards over an infringement during his in lap during qualifying at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The German was on for a front row start after he qualified second behind teammate Charles Leclerc who earned a deserved maiden pole in just his second race for Ferrari. However, the German’s place is now under scrutiny after he reportedly broke Article 27.4 which covers driving slowly on an in lap.
A statement said Vettel was asked to report to the stewards because of an “Alleged breach of Article 27.4 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations and failing to observe the Race Director’s instruction, document 2 (item 16.1), driving unnecessarily slowly on an in lap at 18:13 during qualifying.”
At the Bahrain Grand Prix, the drivers must set times between the two Safety Car lines at above one minute and 55 seconds.
