Max Verstappen has received a five-second time penalty for the incident that occurred between him and
Charles Leclerc at the start of the
Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Verstappen immediately grabbed the lead at the start but went wide, also pushing Leclerc off the track.
Red Bull Racing believed that the Dutchman did not have to give the position back, but
Ferrari clearly thought otherwise - and so did the
FIA. The matter was assessed by the stewards, and they decided to impose a five-second time penalty on Verstappen.
