Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton had a clash in the closing stages of the Hungarian Grand Prix. After the race, the two had to report to the stewards. A verdict has since been drawn on the incident.
Verstappen had a clear opinion after the incident. The Dutchman immediately claimed that Hamilton had gone off his line while braking, which would mean he had done something that should not be done. Hamilton, however, felt it was a racing incident.

Will Verstappen get a penalty?

The stewards looked at the incident and listened to the drivers' explanations. In doing so, they concluded that no penalties need be handed out. This means Hamilton retains his podium spot and Verstappen does not lose his fifth position either.
The FIA 's verdict reported that it was clear that Verstappen braked. It also addressed the Dutchman's assessment that Hamilton would have gone off his line while braking. The stewards did not see this in the same way, although they did stress that the seven-time world champion could have done more to avoid a collision.
