GPblog understands that McLaren did not raise the matter of Max Verstappen's new Brazil GP engine costs and whether or not they were included in the cost cap at the F1 Commission. Earlier reports suggested that Andrea Stella would ask such questions. Last Sunday, Max Verstappen took a new engine in his RB21, and Red Bull made no secret of the fact that this was done to add extra performance. The rules are clear: the costs of a new power unit are included in the cost cap.

McLaren consulted with the FIA
Still, it appeared that McLaren wanted to raise the issue during this Friday’s F1 Commission meeting. There had been suggestions that the extra power unit did not fall under the cost cap, which would've given Red Bull an advantage if that were the case.
GPblog understands McLaren has asked the FIA for clarification. The governing body issued the same response as what this website wrote. After that it was determined not to bring the topic to the table during the F1 Commission meeting.
