The outcome of the FIA International Court of Appeal case has also brought changes to the Drivers' Championship standings, with Isack Hadjar gaining ground at Pierre Gasly's expense. The Alpine driver not only lost his Monaco podium but also several championship points as a result of the reinstated penalties.
Earlier today,
the FIA International Court of Appeal ruled in favour of Red Bull and McLaren in their appeal over Gasly's
Monaco Grand Prix penalties. The Alpine driver had originally received two five-second penalties for pit-lane speeding before they were cancelled following Alpine's successful Right of Review. The ICA has now overturned that decision and reinstated both penalties, once again changing the Monaco classification and the championship points awarded as a result.
While the ruling has not caused any major changes at the top of the Drivers' Championship, Gasly has paid the biggest price. The Alpine driver loses nine points and now sits 16 points behind Liam Lawson, while Lawson, Oscar Piastri and Arvid Lindblad each gain two points following the revised Monaco classification.
This means Gasly now sits 16 points behind Liam Lawson in the Drivers' Championship, while his advantage over Arvid Lindblad has been reduced to just 10 points. Hadjar, meanwhile, consolidates eighth place with 71 points, 20 clear of Lawson.
The top six positions, meanwhile, remain unchanged, with Kimi Antonelli continuing to lead the Drivers' Championship ahead of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, with the gaps remaining exactly as they were following the Dutch Grand Prix.
