Lewis Hamilton’s torrid streak with Scuderia Ferrari continued as he suffered another first-round qualifying elimination at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The British driver, who was among the first to take to the track at the start of qualifying, saw his weekend unfold in the same manner as much of his free practice sessions.
Hamilton clocked a lap time over seven-tenths off the 1:22.605 set by Oscar Piastri, finishing 16th in the opening segment of qualifying.

The Ferrari driver was joined by Pierre Gasly, Williams Racing’s Alex Albon, Nico Hülkenberg, and Franco Colapinto, who all failed to progress to the second round of qualifying.
