The start to the 2025 F1 Belgian Grand Prix has been delayed due to the conditions. But current world champion Max Verstappen downplays concerns.
The rain has struck as predicted and race direction has made the decision, on the grounds of safety, to delay the race start which was due to start at 15:00 local Belgium time.
The race start procedure has been suspended, and the drivers have parked their cars in the pitlane.

Formation lap complaints, Verstappen wants to get going

During the formation lap several drivers reached out to their teams on the radio to complaint with regards to the visibility, or lack thereof.
Max Verstappen told De Telegraaf he disagreed with the measures taken: "We just need to do a few laps. They're being way too cautious."
On his side, F1TV commenter and former F1 driver Jolyon Palmer, when looking at the conditions he agreed with the Dutchman saying: "That's alright there. That's good."

More rain incoming

According to team communications, it is expected that heavy rainfall hits the track in the next few minutes. If it does, due to the decreasing levels of natural light, the race may be cut short, or even suspended.
