Rossi to be replaced as CEO of Alpine with immediate effect

Laurent Rossi is no longer the CEO of Alpine. The team reported this through a press release on Thursday afternoon. The Frenchman will be replaced by Philippe Krief.

Rossi had been the brand's CEO since the name change from Renault to Alpine. In 2021, he celebrated his first and only victory with the team after Esteban Ocon managed to cross the line first in a chaotic Hungarian Grand Prix.

Plans for Alpine were grand for after 2022. The team should be competing for the leading positions after the major changes in regulations. However, these goals were not achieved, after which Rossi criticised his team several times.

It was announced this afternoon that the Frenchman will be replaced. Krief, Alpine's new CEO, had been with the brand for some time as Vice President of Engineering and Product Performance. As CEO, he will report to Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group, Alpine's parent company. Rossi is not disappearing from the team altogether. From now on, he will work on special projects related to the transformation of the Alpine Group.
