Shanna Lutgert

Shanna grew up surrounded by motorsport and knows no different. From a young age, race weekends shaped her world, a passion that naturally evolved into a career in Formula 1 journalism. With 3.5 years of experience in the F1 media landscape and a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Groningen, she reports on the sport at the very highest level.
During race weekends, Shanna is rarely standing still. She is constantly searching for stories, trends and developments that go beyond the standard headlines. She has attended numerous Grands Prix, including Azerbaijan (2024 and 2025), Abu Dhabi, Monaco, Monza, Imola, Austria and the Netherlands, and has also covered various GT events such as NLS9 on the iconic Nordschleife.
Alongside Formula 1, Shanna has a strong interest in endurance and GT championships. With a particular focus on the Porsche one-make cups and interviews with GT stars such as Jules Gounon, Jann Mardenborough and Huub van Eijndhoven, she has expanded her expertise beyond the pinnacle of single-seater racing.
This versatile background is precisely where her strength lies: finding alternative angles and adding context. As a freelance journalist for GPblog, Shanna delivers a broad and distinctive range of news, analysis and stories that resonate with what the modern Formula 1 fan wants to read.
