The ultimate battle: Rookie teams and drivers fight the veterans

Formula E contains newcomers who have so-far proved they can battle with the more experienced teams in the series. There are a lot of drivers making their debuts in the sport who are starting to emerge on the global stage.

Perhaps one of the most significant rookies in the series is Nyck de Vries. The Dutchman won the Formula 2 championship and instead of moving to Formlula 1 like his predecessors, he moved to the electric racing series.

His team, Mercedes, are also new to the sport and have appeared at the top of the timesheets already. While the likes of Audi and BMW have been involved for years, Mercedes are new but proving they can fight.
