The Singapore Grand Prix is perceived by Formula 1 drivers as one of the toughest races of the year. Given the hot and humid climate, it is especially challenging physically and so some extra preparation is no unnecessary luxury. George Russell explains how he prepares for the physical hit of the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

In a video, Russell and Lewis Hamilton talk about their experience of Singapore's street circuit. "The lap seems to go on forever," says Hamilton, who describes the circuit as "bumpy". "Singapore is the most challenging circuit of the year for all the drivers, because there are so many corners. It's non stop," adds Russell.

Russell has a special way of preparing physically for the tough evening race. "Ahead of the weekend I'll be going to the gym wearing leggings, shorts, track bottoms, t-shirt, jumper and a rain jacket, just to try and get my body used to that heat," says the Mercedes driver.
