Three years ago today: Formula 1 loses great icon with death of Niki Lauda
Today marks the third anniversary of the death of Formula One icon Niki Lauda. To honour him, McLaren has unveiled a bronze statue of the three-time world champion.
Tribute from McLaren to Lauda
Through a video, McLaren unveils the statue of the Austrian, who won his last Formula One title with the Woking-based team in 1984. CEO Zak Brown calls it "an honor" to unveil the statue.
The statue of Lauda will have a permanent place at the McLaren Technology Centre, next to the bronze statues of Bruce McLaren and Ayrton Senna.
